EAMCEF joins the World in celebrating International Day of Forests 2026, themed “Forests and Economies”.
As always, forests are more than landscapes, they are lifelines for both people and economies.
On this day, we celebrate how forests support livelihoods, drive sustainable economies, and safeguard our future.
Since 2006, EAMCEF has supported the conservation of the EAMs forests, while also working with communities in adjacent villages to reduce overdependence on forest resources. This is achieved by promoting sustainable livelihood options, ensuring that forests continue to deliver value beyond conservation.
We are proud that the EAMs provide vital water sources for agriculture and hydroelectric power generation, supporting industries that, in turn, drive economic development to millions of people at local and regional levels. EAMCEF’s conservation efforts demonstrate that healthy forests = strong economies.
Let us continue to invest in forests not only to protect nature, but also to support economic development while empowering people and sustaining livelihoods for generations to come.
