As we celebrate World Bee Day under the theme ‘Bee Together for People and the Planet – A Partnership That Sustains Us All,’ EAMCEF highlights how partnerships among communities, conservation stakeholders, and nature can create lasting benefits for both people and the environment.

From 2006–2025, EAMCEF proudly worked with local communities across the Eastern Arc Mountains (EAMs) to promote sustainable beekeeping as a livelihood opportunity and a Nature based Solution (NbS) that benefits both people and nature.

Together, we have supported 130 beekeeping groups, reached 65 villages, engaged 2,600 community members, and installed 4,095 beehives. These efforts resulted in the harvesting of 92,950 kg of honey and the production of 845 kg of beeswax. In addition, 45 early adopters were motivated and now collectively own 90 beehives. More importantly, community members have collectively generated an income of TZS 1,155,035,000.

These achievements demonstrate how partnerships can sustain livelihoods, strengthen local economies, support forest conservation, and protect the ecosystems upon which both bees and people depend.

When communities and conservation work hand in hand, both people and the planet thrive.

Please join EAMCEF in supporting the conservation of the EAMs. COME ONE, COME ALL.
