Invitation for Bids: Sale of EAMCEF Used Motor Vehicles

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The Eastern Arc Mountains Conservation Endowment Fund (EAMCEF) is a Trust Fund that was established as a mechanism to provide long-term and reliable support for Community Development, Biodiversity Conservation and Applied Research Projects, which promote the biological diversity, ecological functions and sustainable use of the natural resources in the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania. The main intention of establishing the Trust Fund is to address the need for a long-term sustainable approach to funding the conservation of forest biodiversity in the important ecosystem. Activities which contribute to the promotion of economic development and social welfare of the local communities in the target areas are given high priority for funding by EAMCEF.

The Eastern Arc Mountains Conservation Endowment Fund was originally conceived as a joint initiative of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). EAMCEF was officially registered in Tanzania on 6^th June, 2001 under the Trustees’ Incorporation Act (Cap 318 R.E. 2002). Governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT), the Fund operates as a Not-for-Profit Conservation Finance Trust organization with its day-to-day operations being run by the Endowment Fund Secretariat (EFS) with its Headquarter Offices in Morogoro Municipality and headed by an Executive Director (ED).

2.0 SALE OF EAMCEF USED MOTOR VEHICLES

1. EAMCEF intends to sale by competitive tender its 5 units of USED Toyota Land Cruisers and thus, it is now inviting bids from prospective buyers by tender for the following motor vehicles:

• Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles during the bidding period at the set visiting hours from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays at Plot No. 348, 25 Kibwe/Kingalu Road, Forest Hill Area; Morogoro Municipality.

• ONLY electronic applications/bids properly filled in should be send through the official email address: eamcef@easternarc.or.tz so as to reach the office by or before 1000hrs local time, Thursday, 24^th  July, 2025.

• The APPLICATION should clearly indicate the type and registration number of the vehicle of interest e.g. BID FOR PURCHASE OF USED MOTOR VEHICLE REG. NUMBER DFP 8716” “BID FOR PURCHASE OF USED MOTOR VEHICLE REG. NUMBER: DFP 8716, DFP 8717, etc. One bidder may bid for one or more vehicles.

• Late applications will not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances (please, remember that, only electronic applications will be accepted).
• All motor vehicles will be sold on the condition of “AS IS AS WHERE IS BASIS”
• The successful applicant will be required to pay a 25% non-refundable down payment of the bid price soon after receiving the letter of award and the remaining 75% will be required to be paid within 14 days.
• Handing over of the vehicle(s) will only be done soon after the buyer has successfully completed the transfer of ownership of the vehicle(s) to him/her including requisite evidence of payment of all associated taxes.
• No warranties from EAMCEF are implied or expressed for each and all the concerned Motor Vehicles.
• Please note that, EAMCEF is not bound to accept any Highest or Lowest Bid.
