This is a small (less than 10 sq km) area of forest on top of a relatively small Eastern Arc block that ranges from 800 to 1250 m altitude within Mikumi National Park.
Little is known of the biodiversity values of this forest as it has only been surveyed briefly for plants and for small mammals. On current knowledge it contains 4 Eastern Arc endemic trees.
The habitats are well protected as they are within the National Park.
